Manage your AI channel deployments

Channels

Channels are the foundation of Vindex Ai Gateway. A Channel represents a specific AI implementation, typically for a single website or application.

Configuration

When you create or edit a Channel, you can configure the following:

Core Identity

  • Name: The display name of your channel.
  • Website URL: (Optional) Provide this to enable the built-in Web Scraper.
  • System Prompt: Define the AI's personality, goals, and constraints.

Knowledge & Intelligence

  • AI Model: Choose from supported models (e.g., Llama 3.3, Claude 3.5).
  • Knowledge Base: Upload PDF documents or paste text to give the AI specialized knowledge.
  • Embedded Search: Automatically indexes your knowledge base for fast, relevant retrieval.

Safety & Limits

  • Rate Limits: Set per-minute and per-day message limits.
  • Is Active: Instantly enable or disable the AI for this channel.

Embedding your AI

Each Channel generates a unique API Key. You can use this key to:
  1. Use our built-in Website Chat Widget.
  2. Integrate with your own UI using our Chat Endpoint.

Managing Tools

You can extend your Channel's capabilities by adding API Tools. These allow the AI to interact with your own backend or third-party services.
  • Navigate to Channel → Tools to manage custom integrations.
  • Learn more in the Tools Overview.

Conversational Leads

Enable the Contact Tool to allow the AI to capture visitor information (Name, Email, Phone, Message) conversationally.
  • Leads are automatically sent to your configured Contact Email.
  • View all captured leads under Channel → Leads.

Self-Learning

Vindex Ai includes an autonomous Knowledge Flywheel that identifies gaps in your AI's responses and brings them to your attention.
  • Enable Autonomous Learning in your channel settings.
  • Review and approve suggested entries in the Learning Pool.
  • Learn more in the Self-Learning Guide.
